Okay, so I personally didn’t think the 2003 Daredevil film starring Ben Affleck was that bad… well at least not as bad as Halle Berry’s Catwoman that was just one big pile of bantha fodder and quite possibly the worst comic book movie of all time! Anyways Daredevil is set to hit the small screen as a Marvel Netflix original series.
The series stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/ Daredevil, and will being going up against Vincent D’Onofrio as villainous Wilson Fisk/ Kingpin. While the just released trailer captures the dark and gritty tone that the series will have, it does supply some comedic relief with Fisk’s number two, Wesley Owen Welch telling some bruised henchmen, “Maybe if he had an iron suit or magic hammer that would explain why you keep getting your asses handed to you.”
The cast also includes Deborah Ann Woll as Murdock’s love interest Karen Page; Elden Henson as his legal partner, Foggy Nelson; and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, a nurse who, in this show, seems to be an amalgamation of the doctor once romantically involved with Luke Cage, and Linda Carter of Marvel’s 1970s Night Nurse series.
Judging by how tight the Marvel film franchise has been interwoven with the TV series Agents of Shield, I can’t help but wonder if they will be linking this new Daredevil series into the expanded cinematic universe also. Only time will tell.
Will you be watching it?
