Netflix Australia reveals its prices, nicely undercutting the competition!

Streaming service Netflix might officially be launching in Australia tomorrow, however with the release of their pricing structure this morning, it’s clear they’re not messing around and are determined to ruffle the feathers of its competition.

ruffle feathers

Fairfax is reporting the service will offer three tiers of streaming options, with the cheapest coming in at just $8.99 a month. This option will allow users to stream to one device in standard definition. The next plan up is priced at $11.99, that offers high definition streaming to two devices, while the third one, at $14.99 a month, offers ultra-high definition 4K streaming to up to four devices.

This pricing is comparable to the American service, which a reported 200,000 Australians already access illegally using VPNs. Similar to rivals Presto and Stan, Netflix will offer a free 30-day trial to new members, however, prices for the other services start at $9.99 and $10 a month respectively.
The streaming service has also scored a deal with iinet  which means customers of that isp will be able to stream Netflix content without it counting towards their monthly download limit. Can we say winning?
