Santa declared dead? Well this is a bit awkward. A Norwegian newspaper has come under fire for the ultimate attack on the christmas spirit. If by chance you would have picked up a copy of Norway’s largest newspaper Aftenposten, and read the obituaries you would have been shocked read that jolly old St. Nicholas has died at the ripe old age of 227.
Don’t fear little kids! The guy that works one night a year and spends the rest of it judging us is still alive… Well so we hope. As it turns out the obituary was a gag that should never been published.
According to the NY Post:
“An error in Aftenposten’s internal procedures led to a fictional obituary of Santa Claus (being) published in our digital systems,” Aftenposten said in a statement.
“Aftenposten has strict guidelines for both the content and use of symbols in our obituaries. This ad is a violation of these and should never have been published…We will find out what has happened.”
In other words someone is probably pissed that they never got that Justin Bieber doll and has decided to ruin Christmas for everyone. What a Grinch!
At least the Easter Bunny is still hopping about right?
